The Psychedelic Furs - Heaven

Like hell am I going to pick something as obvious as "Pretty In Pink."

H2O - What Happened?

One of the best records of last year. I loved putting this track on when I worked at Hot Topic and watching people totally miss the inherent irony of that song being played in that place.

Also, Matt Skiba is gorgeous.

Dance Area Ft. Austin Boston - AA/247

One of the things I'm very, very excited about this year is the seeming resurgence of 90s rave.

The Stone Roses - Love Spreads

More proof to my claim that Manchester is the greatest music-producing city of the 20th century.

Drugs.

The Statler Brothers - Flowers on the Wall

This is my favorite song of all time. I kid you not.

Mayhem - Freezing Moon (Wacken 2004)

As of writing this, it is -15 degrees Fahrenheit in Aurora. After you factor in the windchill, it's a balmy -33. It's been like this for almost two days, and it's not supposed to warm up til Sunday or Monday.

So in honor of these ball-crushing temperatures...

First of all, what idiot booked Mayhem to play in the middle of the day? The intro to this song crushes.

The Tea Party - Temptation

Fun Fact: I really liked this song. Then I saw the video and liked it a little less.

Bad Brains - Big Take Over (CBGB's 1982)

One of the best nights of my life was when I locked myself in my room with a six-pack and the Bad Brains CBGB's 1982 DVD and watched it four times in a row.

N.E.R.D. - Everybody Nose (Remix)

Total banger, minimal beat and the only Lupe verse I've ever truly loved which is kind of sad since it's a bit of a novelty verse. Hilarious video, too.

The Undertones - Teenage Kicks

Let's round out my opening trio of videos with a band that was better than the Buzzcocks.

The Thermals - Pillar of Salt

One of my favorite records and songs of the last couple years. Flawless pop that never fails to make me smile.

Oasis - Don't Look Back in Anger (City of Manchester Stadium, 2005)

Simple concept.

At least once a day a new music video gets posted with a brief comment.

Let's start with the greatest band of my generation. If you don't get goosebumps during the first chorus then there is something wrong with you.
